iNode Adaptive Outlier Filtering Algorithm

Filtering algorithms play an important role in detecting and excluding outliers from travel time data. The data for these algorithms is derived from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth MAC address detection. This whitepaper will present data samples captured by SMATS sensors from different deployment cases, illustrating how the developed algorithm filters the outliers from the dataset. The SMATS algorithm is designed and tested to work with small and large sample sizes, in addition to arterial and freeway travel time data.
